9. Areas of Trapeziums & Parallelograms

Explanation

A parallelogram is a four-sided shape with two pairs of parallel sides. Its area is calculated with the formula Area=base×height. The 'height' is the perpendicular distance between the parallel bases. A trapezium (or trapezoid) is a four-sided shape with only one pair of parallel sides. Its area is calculated using the formula Area=21(a+b)×h, where a and b are the lengths of the parallel sides and h is the perpendicular height between them.
